Bob Callender Fine Art

Bob Callender Fine Art To inspire the hard working people related to the oil and gas industry, with art. Bob's art is sold Contact Bob to commission him for your corporate art.

As a native of West Texas, Bob Callender was used to the daily sight of the various oilfield operations that fuel the Texas lifestyle. As the youngest child in a family of 10 children, Bob was also personally acquainted with the oilfield life, watching his father and older brothers work hard to earn a living. From the time Bob was a young child, he had a strong passion for photography. As his skil

ls progressed, he was able to create surrealism in any subject matter he photographed. Being so closely associated with the West Texas oilfield scene, it was only natural that Bob would soon turn his creative eye to what was nearest and most familiar to him, making it into an art form. Using high dynamic range photography and photographic manipulation, Bob is able to capture the essence and beauty of the rigs and any associated equipment with explosive color and vibrant skies that are unlike anywhere else in the country. Using his unique sense of style and perspective, Bob will create a piece of art that will make your office or reception area unique. Bob Callender uses an entirely different process for your oil and gas photography. Where most photographers take a picture using cameras only capable of 245 colors, Bob begins his process with a camera taking images that use more than 6,000 different colors. From this point, using Lightroom and other programs, Bob develops your oil and gas images unlike any other artist in the field. With his distinct style and artistry, you can be assured to have not just a picture, but a true work of art when done. For this reason, Bob Callender has been published in many magazines and is nationally known for his art work.

When the Heavens Roar – A New Release by Bob Callender

In this electrifying new masterpiece, Bob Callender captures the raw, untamed drama of West Texas like only he can. When the Heavens Roar freezes a moment where industry and nature collide—lightning ripping across a storm-charged sky as towering pump jacks stand their ground below. The scene is drenched in adrenaline: thunderheads rumble overhead, bolts of white-hot electricity ignite the horizon, and reflections shimmer in the rain-soaked earth, turning the oilfield into a stage of pure cinematic power.

Every stroke of light, every crack of the storm, every glint of metal tells a story of resilience, energy, and the relentless spirit of the oilfield. This is the kind of moment most people run from—but Bob runs toward it, capturing beauty inside chaos with his signature intensity.

When the Heavens Roar isn’t just a photograph.
It’s a surge of energy.

Bluebonnets and the Easter Donkey

This image, Bluebonnets and the Easter Donkey, draws its inspiration from a backdrop of colors, like the Indian Paintbrush. A vibrant flower that fills our prairie like a wildfire. The fiery colors, burning a path across the horizon, are in stark contrast to the little Easter Donkey.
The legend of the donkey's cross begins in the Bible. In Mark 11, Jesus sends two of his disciples to retrieve the small donkey no one had faith in.

The farmer did not believe the runty donkey was capable of earning his keep. When the farmer informed his children that he was going to have to kill the little donkey. His children begged him to sell the donkey, but the farmer would not hear of it. He told them the donkey was worth noting to anyone.
The children were heartbroken and so very sad for the frail little donkey. The children went to their father and asked him "Father please take the donkey and tie him to the tree and see if someone will take him for free. " seeing his children weep for the small animal was more than the father could bear, he agreed.
Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem and sent two of his disciples to go and retrieve the small donkey. The farmer did not think that anyone would take the animal, he was surprised when he saw two men approaching him.

The farmer told the men he was sure the donkey would be of little use to Jesus. The disciples assured the farmer that Jesus wanted his small animal. The farmer was worried that Jesus would be disappointed with the donkey, but he handed it over to the disciples anyway.
Jesus placed his hands on the petite animal, and at that moment the donkey knew he could anything Jesus asked of him.

The donkey was so proud to carry Jesus into Jerusalem on that first Palm Sunday. He was devoted to his new master and followed him to Calvary. He could not bear to see his master hanging on the cross so the animal turned his back to the cross. The shadow of the cross fell across donkeys back and it been there ever since.

And that's the legend of how the donkey got it's cross.

Driver’s Seat
Driver’s Seat is the perfect reflection of the good old days. This old truck is the perfect reminder of times past but not forgotten. Window down, no air-conditioning. The wear and tear of the elements have only added to the character. Even though this truck is sitting off to the side, it could just as easily be the old rancher’s truck as he is riding lease roads to feed the cows and make sure no one is speeding. It is a reminder of those who have survived out here through boom and bust.
Those who have worked the land and found a way to make it work through the lean times. Those that would keep driving that old truck because it’s dependable and it’s paid for. It is a tip of the hat to the way things once were and the way some things still are. It’s a friendly wave at the person passing by you on the road. There aren’t many left cut from the same mold as he is, but they were a good group of great men. As he looks out across his land, where the rigs are stacked up, realizing that he is finally sitting in the Driver’s Seat.
