Did you know Midvale has our very own astronaut?

Don Lind was raised in Midvale, and attended Midvale Schools for elementary and middle school, graduating from Jordan High in the 1940s.

Stop by the museum to visit our display dedicated to Mr. Lind, including a Midvale memorial plate that traveled to space and back with our astronaut!

Did you know?
In 1958, NORAD accidentally created the tradition of tracking Santa Claus.
A Sears department store printed a Christmas ad telling kids to call Santa—but the phone number had a typo and rang directly to the U.S. military’s top command center. Instead of hanging up, the officer on duty told the child Santa was on his way. That one kind response turned into an annual tradition where NORAD now uses satellites, radar, and fighter jets to “track” Santa’s journey around the world every Christmas Eve.

Did you know that our Director has been dedicating himself to the Midvale Historical Society for over 20 years, and prior to that, he generously volunteered several years at Tyler Library? If you've ever had the pleasure of visiting our beloved museum, you've undoubtedly encountered the invaluable Bill Miller - a true gem. He's a beacon of enthusiasm and wit, overflowing with passion for our community. The joy he finds in greeting local children is matched only by his love for sharing tales, whether rooted in reality or spun from imagination. 😂 His selfless contributions have been immeasurable, and we're compelled to express our heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Historical Society and Midvale residents for his tireless efforts in preserving our collective heritage.
