Dorchester Academy Historic Dorchester Academy is a historic African American educational institution that now serves as a Community Center and Civil Rights Museum. Rev.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. King and SCLC operationalized the Citizenship Education Program at this site. Dorchester Academy played a Major role in the National Civil Rights Movement and in the Educational, Business, Social and Political Development of the African American Community in Liberty County, Georgia.

Last Saturday, this canvas banner was displayed during the 26th Annual Walk to Dorchester, a fundraiser for the historic African American school located at 8787 E. Oglethorpe Hwy in Midway, GA. The graphics in the banner is NOT our Dorchester Academy.

Please do not make any donations to any organization on behalf of the Walk to Dorchester Fundraiser other than Dorchester Academy.

We are requesting a Cease and Desist to the creator of this product(s) and the use of "The Walk to Dorchester" slogan.

Please DM Dorchester Academy with any information about the creator of this banner.

Dorchester Academy is grateful for the incredible donation bestowed upon us by Leadership Southeast Georgia. Thank you!

Thank You to all who participated in the 26th Annual Walk to Dorchester Fundraiser.

🎬 Leadership in action: While visiting Liberty County earlier this year, the Leadership Southeast Georgia Class of 2026 toured Dorchester Academy to learn about its historic legacy and continued impact.

💡 Inspired by that experience, members of the class came together to raise funds and participate in the annual Walk to Dorchester in support of the Dorchester Improvement Association's ongoing work. Through their own initiative, the class presented a $4,000 donation to support this important mission.

💙 This is the heart of Leadership Southeast Georgia: Leaders who listen, learn, build relationships, and take action. We are proud to celebrate the Class of 2026 and the meaningful impact they continue to make across our region!
