Art at the Mill

In October 1990, a small group of artists got together and proposed an idea for an art show at the historic Burwell-Morgan Mill in the picturesque village of Millwood, Virginia Using whatever material they could find to install the art, these artists worked tirelessly to produce what was to become the very first Art at the Mill show. Over time, Art at the Mill has grown from a three-day show of a

handful of art into one of the most recognized and prestigious art shows in the region. Though Art at the Mill has grown substantially over the years to include thousands of artists and buyers from all over the country, the show’s basic principles remain the same: to have fun, bring together artists and promote the extraordinary artistic talent of the region. The art show is run by the Clarke County Historical Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Berryville, Virginia. CCHA owns and operates the historic Burwell-Morgan Mill, which hosts the art show each year. The mill, located in the beautiful village of Millwood, Virginia, was built in the 1700s and still runs today! Art at the Mill helps to operate and preserve this historic treasure.
