Darin Yates Studios An American Impressionist Artist and Southwest Art Painter. Darin was inspired at a young age to draw and paint wildlife.

He attended art school at Ringling School of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida in 1992-1995.

Just finished a smaller Acrylic painting (24”x30”) of a barn owl for the American Impressionist Society art competition. I am a new member of their art group since December of 2025. If your work is selected as a finalist there is a physical show in Bend, OR on Sept. 4 - Oct. 3, 2026 - plus you can win prize money. This painting is kind of out of my painting series…but hey who doesn’t like wildlife paintings?

Just wanted to pass on the good luck news. Back in Nov. Southwest Art Magazine called me and raved about my horse paintings and wanted me to advertise in their magazine. They gave me a deal I couldn’t pass up. When I was in high school and college I dreamt of getting into their magazine someday with my art…today is the day! They had me advertise in their two issues (Feb/March and Aug/Sept)that go out to all the national art shows around the country to get my art and name out there. They have stacks of them for free when you walk in the doors. Anyways, I hope this will start getting me in the front door and galleries will want to take my work. I am very thankful that this has worked out now. This issue my ad is on pg. 84.

Finally finished my Paul McCartney painting. Thinking of doing a series with all 4 Beatles at their ages now…which two of them are dead. So that will be a challenge to age John Lennon to his 80’s…sounds like a job for AI. Amazing what can be done now with AI.

Working on a new painting of The Beatles member, Paul McCartney. I started this back in November after seeing him in concert. Trying to finish him in between my Sedona Series. I’ve got 14 hours into it so far. I’m thinking of doing all 4 Beatles members as if they were alive still. I used AI to create the look of John Lennon and George Harrison if they were 80 years old now. That was cool! They did a good job too. You’ll just have to wait for the Beatles series coming soon!
