Guess who came by the shop last week? John McGivern and his Main Streets crew are filming an episode about Walker's Point and we're delighted to be included in it! We had so much fun showing John and the crew what we do here and around the city and the state. We'll let you know when the episode airs next spring.

Here we are laying the first layer of plaster in the arch. The interesting thing is that this will all be enclosed later, so you won’t see the back like this again.

Update on St Bernard’s: we’re back in Madison working on the next phase, the three entryway arches. You can also see the spaces where the screens we’ve made will go. The interior of the church has been newly painted and it is stunning. What a privilege it is to be part of this work.

Just realizing we never posted pictures of our finished work repairing the ceiling at St Willebrord in Green Bay. It came out beautifully, and we’re proud to have been given the opportunity to bring it back to its original glory.

These are from the reopening celebration in June last year.

Here we unmold the new screen piece. We made the mold by pouring a glue over the model piece and waiting for it to set. The mold can be used multiple times, and the glue can be reused when we’re done with the mold.

Check out our previous post for how we made the model for this mold.

Next week we’ll be back in Madison at St Bernard’s. We’re doing several things there, and one of them is duplicating a beautiful latticed screen; there were probably originally two but only one remains.) In order to do that we’ve had to remove one part of the screen and use it as a model to cast multiple copies. Here are some pictures of the process.

We’ll show you what it looks like when it goes up!

Check out our next post to see how the piece came out of the mold!
