MIAD Gallery at The Ave provides a supportive space for MIAD students, alumni, faculty & staff to show and sell their work in the heart of downtown Milwaukee.

The gallery holds both exhibitions and a rotating inventory of artwork, crafted goods and more.

Open to ALL students, faculty, staff and alumni: a returning paid installation opportunity! Selected artists will receive $665 for two works or $1,000 for three. Work will be installed for one year. Apply by 4/25 to be considered! Application link can be found in ’s bio!

Opening reception TONIGHT! Join us at from 5-8pm to celebrate the opening of Originals and Echoes. This exhibition features work by 18 students from the New Studio Practice () Singularity and Multiplicity course. They each explore the unique aesthetic authority of an object in time and space.

Exhibition runs 11/19-2/15.

Join us at on 11/22 for the opening reception of Originals and Echoes featuring work by ’s Singularity and Multiplicity students. Works featured in the exhibition explore how aura, described as the unique authority of an object in time and space, is presented within an artistic practice. Over time, the students will add additions to their “originals” that will be available for sale at the gallery. Exhibition runs through 2/15.

is thrilled to share an upcoming exhibition and collaboration between , , and titled “Safe to Cry Here”.

“Safe To Cry Here” is an interactive gallery exhibit and shop by Charity Ekpo, Dusty Pete’s, and Peach Beast, celebrating the intimate, analog methods of communication, self-expression, and friendship before the digital age. The exhibit features key installations such as a giant friendship bracelet for visitor contributions, school lockers for note-passing, and a cozy “Diary/Crying Corner” with nostalgic prompts. Visitors can decorate a vanity with stickers, explore a shoppable display, and participate in interactive activities like writing on a giant CD wall. This immersive experience aims to evoke nostalgia, foster creativity, and encourage personal connections in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

We are proud to announce and have a brand new location to view creative work from our students and alumni: Concourse D at the Milwaukee !

MIAD is thrilled to include ‘21 Communication Design alumni as our first exhibiting creative in this new space.

In response to the negative impacts of pandemic life on mental health, and as part of their senior capstone project at MIAD in 2021, artist Liz Geoffrey created PROJECT REFRAME, a series of 1,000 positive affirmation postcards printed using letterpress printing. Viewers were invited to personalize and mail these postcards, spreading encouragement and fostering connections through the postal service during a time of isolation.

This MKE Airport iteration reimagines the original project, which was on view April 16 – May 8, 2021, further exploring Liz’s passion for both analog printing and mental health.

A limited supply of Geoffery’s postcards representing the project will be available inside the TripAdvisor store located immediately adjacent to the exhibit. PROJECT REFRAME will be on display at MKE through the end of 2024, with a new exhibition arriving sometime in 2025.
