Milwaukee County Historical Society The mission of the Milwaukee County Historical Society is to collect, interpret, and tell stories related to Milwaukee and Milwaukee County history.

In promoting a greater appreciation of Milwaukee County’s heritage, the Historical Society hopes to develop a better understanding of the issues and challenges facing Milwaukee County today. We’re grateful to Grandhaven LLC, a Lime Kiln Sponsor of the Trimborn Farm Harvest of Arts & Crafts, taking place September 12–13 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Grandhaven’s support helps us celebrate outstanding local artisans while preserving and sharing the beautiful historic setting of Trimborn Farm, Milwaukee County’s only historic park.

And this year, their generosity is helping make our shuttle service even more convenient! On Saturday, one of our shuttles will make an additional stop in the Village of Greendale, while another shuttle will travel directly to Trimborn Farm.

This cuckoo clock in the late 1800s. No one is sure where the cuckoo clock originated, but the first documented clock was made in 1737 by Franz Ketterer in the Black Forest region of Germany, although this clock was made in the United States.

The Kosciuszko Park pool, shown here in 1946, was built during the New Deal as part of a project by Works Progress Administration. Completed in 1941, the pool served the community over 50 years. The pool was replaced in 1997.
