James May Gallery

James May Gallery Contemporary Gallery Started by Kendra Bulgrin and Jimmy Eddings in Algoma, Wisconsin in 2015 with the goal of presenting contemporary works of art and craft.

The gallery is named after their two young sons, Everett James and Forrest May. The artist-run gallery specializes in showing regional and national artists and craftspeople both emerging and established. It is our hope to help first-time art buyers, as well as collectors, expand or start their art collection in a friendly, knowledgeable atmosphere. We also offer free on-site art consulting. We have now moved to the greater Milwaukee area!

Hi everyone!

Due to life circumstances this past year, we have had our last official show of the year but I had a few ideas on how we could help local artists!

Our lease runs through February and we’re looking for artists (single or groups) that would like to show in the gallery. We could help with an opening, marketing, and help with de-Install and install, however you and/or your group would have to help gallery sit. There’s space to have a small studio/ work area as you gallery sit or just relax and enjoy the gorgeous space.

I am also open to subleasing the space and being more hands off too if someone would like a low-risk try at running a gallery for a few months!

It’s broken my heart that the space has been empty the last months and I’d love to re-energize the space. I have been working full time at a day job to get the lease covered and between family time and that just don’t have the bandwidth I did previously.

We are thinking of moving the gallery to an exciting destination outside of Milwaukee soon though! Looking forward to new beginnings. AND we will still have our online presence through ARTSY!

We appreciate all the love and support from you all!

Thank you! 💕🖼️💕☀️

Kassandra Palmer,
Battle of the Eclipse (Total Eclipse of the Heart), 2022
Gouache and flashe on shaped MDF
30 × 24 in

Kassandra Palmer’s work consists of small predicaments that freely oscillate between figuration
and abstraction. Beacons that point to the survival of the unexpected, each of her constructions
is an excavated artifact from the wilderness of a mind. Being both lonesome and playful, each
of these paradoxical propositions is like an echo that rings true but does not compute.
Kassandra was born in Fairfield, California and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 2013, she
graduated summa cm laude from Santa Clara University with a degree in physics, and in 2018,
she earned an MFA degree from the University of Iowa’s program in painting and drawing.
Kassandra has exhibited her work throughout the United States, and she is currently based out
of Madison, Wisconsin.
