Nice sale at Christie's, London tonight. All eyes were on this marvelous view of the Rialto Bridge with the Palazzo dei Camerlenghi by Francesco Guardi. It fetched GBP 26,205,000. Congrats to the new owner of this "Tour de Force", as it has been rightly touted. The portrait attributed to Rembrandt (but is not an autograph work,in my opinion-and the low realization suggests others agree with me) brought GBP 2,105,000. Sometimes it's alot easier to say who didn't paint something, than to proclaim who did.
