First, we will utilize digital tools to bring people together and highlight the awesome things that are already happening in fiber arts. We will introduce an e-mail newsletter promoting opportunities, events, artists, businesses, cultural centers, media channels, etc. We want anyone and everyone interested in fiber arts to subscribe to the newsletter and to share their content for the newsletter.
Next, we will build a website with resources to ensure the growth of existing events and organizations, maintain sustainability for businesses and cultivate new opportunities. We envision this site as an interactive tool where artists can expand their networks, locate information and share artwork. Long term, we will move beyond the digital realm and focus on person-to person community building. Growing camaraderie and giving people new opportunities to create together. Environmental and social consciousness will play an important role as fiber art is directly connected to nature and has a storied history of affecting social change. We revere the past and want to perpetuate these great things by creating opportunities for the fiber art community to engage in service, educate through art and celebrate Wisconsin’s agriculture.
