This beautiful small museum was formerly the George Wise family farmhouse, built on Lake Road in 1865. Admission free but donations are always appreciated. Later owners of the house, United Grocers, donated the structure to the Milwaukie Historical Society. t. Dedication took place June 7, 1975. Guided tours on weekdays for school classes, Scouts, clubs, and other small groups can be arranged by appointment.

Yes, the annual Duck Race Over Kellogg Dam will be back on Saturday, July 11, as part of Milwaukie Fest! And we'll start selling duck sponsorships at the Farmers Market on Sunday, May 31st. Watch for more details as we get further into May. . .

Hello Milwaukie history lovers! Would you like to join a local public historian on a walk through time and learn about the past 250 years of life in Milwaukie? Consider joining one of our walking tours! Tours last about 2 hours and cover Milwaukie from the waterfront through to Main Street.

Our tour scheduled for this weekend is now fully booked, but we are now booking for two additional tour dates: May 23rd and June 13th.

If you'd like to join either tour, please send an email to our secretary with your name, party size, and preferred date. RSVP's are required, as we have to send information about the meeting location and route prior to the event.

CALLING ALL LOCAL HISTORY LOVERS: Both tours are fully booked, but check back soon for new tour dates!

Are you looking for somewhere to bike to or stop by on this delightfully sunny Saturday? Consider the Milwaukie Museum!

Our facility volunteers just installed some new bike racks along the front of the museum (near the trolley car) and they’re ready and waiting for bicycles. 🚲

Once you’re here, you can check out our blooming garden, a new exhibit highlighting the past 250 years of Milwaukie’s history, and our vast collection of research materials and artifacts on display!

As always, there is no admission fee - the museum is always free for residents, neighbors, visitors, and friends of Milwaukie.
