December, 2025
Dear Friends of Squirrel Haus Arts.
It is with mixed emotions we announce the permanent closing of Squirrel Haus Arts.
What a 10 year run it has been! We opened SHA without marketing plan but rather"let’s see what the arts market wanted" attitude. Couple thousand clients later and the amazing support from those attending our events certainly sent a message to us of support and needs of the community.
We are proud of our accomplishment serving not only the visual and performance art community but also non-profits, schools, and community groups.
It was my joy to have met with every client who reserved Squirrel Haus Arts. What an amazing, talented and inspiring group of people. You taught us so much about not only the arts but issues facing so many in our community.
What’s next? We have new ideas and projects to explore. I can assure you we are not done with our commitment to the arts, community and our greater Longfellow neighborhood. To that end we are converting our Squirrel Haus Arts building to our primary residence. Our new home will feature Spidie’s studio, private art gallery plus my wood working shop in a modern industrial style home complete with an elevator. Construction is underway of our new home with a target completion in July 2026.
We look forward to private art shows and a few public events in our warehouse space and back yard.
We can not begin to thank all who contributed to the success of Squirrel Haus Art. You have added so much joy to our lives.
Thank you.
Michael and Spidie Meyer
