The circle of community is only complete when all of us are welcome to the table. NACDI is proud to support and create welcoming spaces for our Two Spirit, Indigiqueer, and Native LGBTQ community members. Many of our staff are out and proud, and work every day to make our community a stronger and safer place for all.

Happy Pride month!

All My Relations Arts is excited be one of the pop-up viewing venues for Hennepin County Library's author talk with Robin Wall Kimmerer on Wednesday, May 13th.

Join your neighbors to watch the live stream of the author talk and have a discussion of the library's 2026 season selection, “The Serviceberry." While Indigenous scientist and author Robin Wall Kimmerer harvests serviceberries alongside the birds, she considers the ethic of reciprocity that lies at the heart of the gift economy and how we can learn from Indigenous wisdom and the plant world to reimagine what we value most.

At All My Relations Gallery, 1414 E. Franklin Ave. 6-8pm; free and open to the public. Copies of the book can be reserved; eBooks and eAudiobooks are available through www.hclib.org.

Sponsor: Friends of the Hennepin County Library and The Mary Ann Key Book Club, which uses reading as a catalyst for intercultural conversations around understanding and addressing past and current injustices that impact Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

Wopida tanka, miigwech, and pinagigi to all who attended the opening reception of "Uŋči Said So"! This solo show from Danielle SeeWalker (Húŋkpapȟa Lakȟóta, Standing Rock Sioux Nation) celebrates the knowledge of our uŋčis and elders, honoring the stories they share. Through vibrant portraiture paintings and pops of fabricated neon with rez slang and cultural gestures, Danielle injects a playful, contemporary glimpse into Native humor and identity. The show runs through June 6th at All My Relations Arts.

Stay tuned for more information regarding the artist talk and parfleche workshop!

Continuing AMRA and NACDI's series on how art is healing, the importance of community and gathering, and how democracy is Indigenous, artist Courtney Cochran reflects on what she experienced while using art as activism during the ICE occupation:

“Art can help push movements forward and I wanted to contribute through my artistic practice. I also wanted to show up for the community as they’ve always shown up for me, and to be a good relative and ally. There are many different ways to show up, and I knew this was the quickest way for me to contribute.” - Courtney Cochran.

☀️ All My Relations Arts and NACDI are excited to host a temporary public art poetry piece by poet Abigail Echo-Hawk, organized by Turtle Mountain Ojibwe poet, editor, and writer Heid E. Erdrich (https://heiderdrich.com). In collaboration with The Camille Gage Fellowship, this piece furthers Heid’s Poetry Service Announcement (PoeS.A.) project which promotes poetry as public art and connects communities through poetry interventions.

🌊This year the Poe.S.A. focus is on justice and justice-impacted communities. Through this fellowship and with the creative collaboration of several BIPOC and Native artists, Heid has infused art mobilizations, events, fundraisers and a memorial snow sculpture with poetry. She partnered with artists to crowd-source a poem on justice.

Heid shares, “In difficult times, many people turn to poetry for comfort and encouragement. Camille Gage met community crisis with enormous grace and brought art to share. I can't live up to Camille's level of action, but I am glad to try.”

➡️ Anyone can contribute by using the QR code on the banner or by visiting the link below and answering 5 questions about how justice feels in the body. https://loom.ly/MDrtvng

In times of crisis, my historical trauma is triggered, and my response is to leap into action. On January 8th, I woke up and thought, “I need to get to the gallery. I need to open up the space for the people.” This came a day after our city witnessed the shocking death of Renee […]
