I’m all about ink drawing! It’s such a blast! Just simple lines to make shapes, and the shading? So cool! You can do it in so many ways—like cross-hatching or just some minimal lines that flow with the form. Try it!

An Agency asked me if I could illustrate a towering basketball player against kids. In a Norman Rockwellesk vibe. Meant to show the strength of their clients product against diseases. "Sure" I said, "Happy too", I said.

ps. It's no Norman Rockwell but it will do.

Ever since we were at this ball game last week and We viewed the game from this unique perspective I was reminded of when I was attending ArtCenter college of design in the late 70's I had a really tough Perspective teacher! Ted Youngkin. He was scary! A former Marine, I loved the fact that he was so regimented and tough. I learned so much from that class.
He asked us if you were the draw baseball players on a field, just how would you know if you had it correct ? Would your out fielder look 12 feet tall?

Well here is the formula that what he taught us...So if you ever want the draw a group of people in perspective here you go. : )

It was fun to be a small part of the new Mayo AD Campaign TV spots. My part was the storyboards in the very beginning stages a year ago. It was really hard to think visually and futuristically if that makes sense. But I love how it turned out! Very creative and visually stunning! Great job by the Mayo Marketing team!
