Burt Ward, best known as Robin from the classic Batman series, has rescued over 15,500 dogs through his Gentle Giants Rescue and Adoptions foundation. Many of these dogs were abandoned, sick, or overlooked, but they were given a second chance at life.

The foundation focuses on dogs often ignored by others—large breeds, older dogs, and those who arrive scared or injured—providing food, medical care, and a safe, loving environment. At times, more than 50 dogs are cared for simultaneously, each nurtured patiently until ready to join a forever home.

Ward’s mission is driven purely by compassion, ensuring every dog has the opportunity to feel safe, valued, and loved. For thousands of dogs, he has become a true hero, showing up when no one else would.
