Robbie Moore shares about his first solo show:

“This show is a celebration of summer in the Northwest— those brief months of warmth and light that feel especially precious after the long winters of Montana and Idaho. Each painting is my attempt to grab onto summer and leverage it to get through the colder seasons of life.”

Meet Robbie at his artist reception First Friday, June 5th from 5 to 8. All ages are welcome to enjoy the art and greet the artist.

The fifth child of renowned Western American Impressionist Robert Moore, Robert Daniel Moore (Robbie) was raised to recognize and value the visual beauty that surrounded him.

From an early age, he was enveloped in the world of fine art. Painting trips into the Rocky Mountains, gallery show openings, and assisting in workshops filled him with a natural inclination towards his father’s profession. Even though his artistic path was paved, he was intentional about experiencing the world outside of art as well.

Robbie earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Arkansas. As he worked through his finance major and held a variety of college jobs, he realized how important it was for him to identify with the world of fine art.

His own artistic journey began in 2018, with much of his time spent drawing. Robbie dove into books by Bridgeman and Loomis along with Carlson and Payne. He continued to spend his free time developing his artistic discipline as he exited college and entered the worktorce.

In 2021 he was commissioned by his fast-paced start-up to create twelve oil paintings for their company calendar. This was the spark Robbie needed to begin working in oil.

After years of transition and mentorship by his father, Robbie is now a career artist represented by multiple fine art galleries. Every year, he is featured in gallery exhibitions, participates in plein air events, and teaches workshops across the Western United States.

Meet Robbie at his first solo show, Celebrating Summer, this Friday, June 5th. His artist reception will be from 5 to 8.

Janet Sullivan shares about this piece:

“Sometimes when a painting sits around in the studio I see things that I would have done differently.

I went to this special spot on the Bitterroot River to refresh my memory of this scene. It was gone!
The area was drained and a short distance away I could see a new barn and house.

My Art Professor in college, Chuck Forman, made it a point to document the landscape that was about to be developed. I kept this notion in mind the rest of my career. As irrigation canals are disappearing,
glaciers are melting and large plains are being developed, landscape painters have become historians.
We capture the essence of the natural time and experience.”
