Last night's Art Class at the Arthur Lesow Community Center with Ms. Amy was a great turnout of young artists. The kids were working outside enjoying the 80 degree weather, and putting some finishing touches on the snow plow for the road commission's "Paint A Plow Contest". The plow is complete and we are in the final stage of naming it and revealing it, so stay tuned! What an honor and a privilege to teach these young artists all year long, but summer camp is always special! The kids get exposed to as much art as possible for an entire week. Thank you to our youth staff that work hard throughout the summer to make sure these young kids and artists have fun, make friends and learn. Painting at the Port of Monroe with Paul LaMarre, Vinny Cioletti and DRM Terminal Management. We learned the history of the Port of Monroe and the world's oldest tugboat named the America. Captain Paul taught the kids how to watercolor their own tugboat America and after class Paul was asked to autograph some of the America prints for the kids. We finished class with Tiffany's pizza, pop and candy suckers. Thank you Paul, Vinny and DRM, you guys rolled out the red carpet for these young artists with the big tent and the beautiful view of the water!
