A friendly museum reminder for all guests 🎨
We love seeing everyone engage with the exhibitions, and we want to help keep the artwork safe and enjoyable for every visitor. Many works currently on view, especially installation piece, are fragile and can be permanently damaged by touch, movement, or accidental contact. Even clean hands can leave oils and residue behind!
To help us preserve the artwork, please keep these museum manners in mind during your visit:
• Do not touch the artwork
Even light touching can damage surfaces, leave residue, or shift delicate installation pieces.
• Please do not use pens or markers in the galleries
Ink can permanently damage artwork and gallery walls. Pencils are available for guests participating in the scavenger hunt or wanting to draw in a sketchbook.
• Use indoor voices
A quieter gallery helps everyone focus, reflect, and enjoy the exhibitions.
• Leave large bags at the front desk
Large bags can accidentally bump into artwork, pedestals, or installations in tighter gallery spaces.
• Keep a safe distance from the artwork
Giving artwork space helps prevent accidental contact and protects fragile materials.
• Do not lean on walls or pedestals
Walls and pedestals support artwork that can shift or fall over if pressed against.
• Photography is welcome, but please do not use flash
Flash photography can be harmful to certain materials and is distracting to other visitors.
• No food, drinks, or gum in the galleries
Spills, crumbs, and sticky substances can attract pests and damage artwork.
• Walk — please do not run in the museum
Running increases the risk of accidents and walking helps us maintain a calm, safe environment for everyone.
Thank you for helping us care for the artwork and for respecting the space so all visitors can enjoy these exhibitions safely 💛
