Maria Valdivia's ’24 invites viewers to pause and reflect on the beauty and resilience found in the ordinary.

Her paintings reflect her experience as a first-generation college student. Figures in her paintings often appear holding tools and objects that are intentionally absent, creating moments of quiet ambiguity. Maria Valdivia is a painter dedicated to shining a spotlight on the often overlooked and under-appreciated inner life of everyday people.

Carpe Diem: Select Alumni in the Visual Arts is on view until May 3. Admission to the Segal Gallery is free, open to the public. We're open Tue – Fri, 12 – 4 pm.

Color, form, and abstraction. Minimal yet rich.

These featured paintings by ’13 draw from Brazilian modernism. Her practice investigates the intersections of human activity, social structures, and the natural environment. Engaging themes of memory, language, and geography, she works through a framework she calls imaginary geography, mapping the fluid territories where personal and collective histories meet.

We’re nearing the end of our semester and the 100th year anniversary of Allen Ginsberg’s birth. Before they go, come see his featured work capturing the lives of the Beat Poets on the streets of New York and San Francisco.

These featured works bring together Allen Ginsberg's (1943) photographs and handwritten text, merging image and language into personal records of daily life, travel, and observation. The photos and text form an intimate archive that reveals Ginsberg’s reflective process beyond his well-known literary legacy.

Allen Ginsberg was an acclaimed poet and a leading figure of the Beat Generation whose radical literary works and advocacy for social change left an indelible mark on American counterculture.

Tiffany Perez's moka pot drawings represent different countries and cultures. Can you spot your country’s flag?

These drawings reflect migration, heritage, and the diversity of the student body, presenting everyday objects as vessels for cultural identity and shared history. Through familiar objects and rich detail, Tiffany creates art that resonates, invites reflection, and brings warmth into living spaces.

Tiffany Perez's practice spans tattooing, pottery, textured painting, and realism. She graciously designed the logo for the Carpe Diem exhibition. is also the owner of Ink Gallery Tattoo Studio in Fairfield, NJ, continuing her mission to create and uplift the community through art and tattoos.
