It is that time of year!! The fourth graders of OMCS had their 19th Century classroom lesson at the Lee School last week. A school has been on this property since 1825. The currently one room schoolhouse was built in 1874 and looks nearly identical to the day in closed in the 1930s.

In early June, the fourth graders of WGCS will visit. This opportunity is one we cherish! The opportunity to share these experiences with our local school children is priceless and provides a special connection to where they are from.

This building has no heat, no water, no bathrooms and a single electrical outlet was installed for emergency lighting. By 1900, Schuyler County had 105 one room schoolhouses!

Today we remember, honor, and never forget those of every war. May we never take for granted those who have made the ultimate sacrifice since the American Revolution to ensure our freedoms.

The Society is proud to be the care taker of this wonderful site. We are welcoming at least 5 weddings this summer, a concert and a religious gathering . We will keep you updated on the dates and times for the concert and the religious services as we finalize the details . (Both are open to the public).
