Did you know that Burdett was once called Tadpole? Burdett was also home to an Opera House, and notice the street names, Factory Street and Mill Street? There's a reason for that!
Join Burdett Historian Marty Evans for a double header on September 19, 2026 Two tours are planned of this important village in the development of Schuyler County. Enjoy one or both tours!
Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on the village green, pick up something fresh from
Burdett Exchange, or enjoy a snack at Hungry Burd!
The first tour, Historic Burdett North, will start at 10 a.m. from the Old Fire Bell. Then, Historic Burdett South will begin at 1 pm. from the Old Fire Bell. As always, the Walkin' History! series is FREE and open to all.
