𝙔𝙖𝙮! 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣!

Time for all of that sweet, yummy goodness...nom nom.

In honor of summer's best fruit (don't let the blueberries know), here are some strawberry-themed gifts to get the juices flowing...

First up is an adorable card by Shawn Braley Illustration named 𝘉𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴. The card is printed with soy-based ink and blank inside. And let's be honest, who hasn't been this guy at some point in their life?

Next is this handy ceramic berry bowl by 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗩𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘀𝘀 of Flint Brook Pottery. Simply place your precious fruit in the bowl, wash, and enjoy! The plate will catch any water that drains out and the holes in the bowl maintain air flow, which keeps berries fresh longer.

Last, but not least, is this beautiful print by Montpelier-based artisan 𝗣𝗲𝗴𝗴𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗼𝗻. Her 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘸𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯 - 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘦 print is, for obvious reasons, perfect for this time of year. While we can't guarantee that the strawberries in Vermont will be this big when you go picking, but they'll be darn close.

Stuck on what to gift your favorite graduate? Have we got an idea for you - and you can support two downtown Montpelier businesses in one go!

We recently got in some new leather journals by Elissa Campbell/Blue Roof Designs. Each is made of soft leather and has a suede lace wraparound tie. A journal is the perfect gift for someone starting the next chapter in their life. It demonstrates that their experiences matter and that they're worth documenting.

And you know what makes journals even better? 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘯!

We consulted with Elena Gustavson, the owner of Magpie & Tiger, and she gave us her recommendations for what pen would pair well with each journal color. Plus, she tested each one directly on the journal paper to make sure that it worked well.

First up, we’ve got the blue journal paired with the Uni-ball One P Gel Pen. This pen’s ink contains pigment particles that remain on the paper’s surface instead of being absorbed. The pen showed no ghosting.

Next is the brown journal partnered with a Pilot FriXion Waai Clicker Erasable Gel Pen. This pen’s ink is quick-drying and smear-free, and showed no ghosting or bleeding on the paper.

The purple journal has been paired with a Kakuno Fountain Pen. Interestingly, Kakuno translates to "to write" in Japanese. This pen had no bleed and minimal ghosting.

Elena selected an Anterique Ballpoint Pen to accompany the green journal. This vintage-inspired pen from Japan has oil-based ink and showed no ghosting on the paper.

Lastly, the red journal was paired with a Soft Touch Gel pen. This pen has a soft-sided barrel and writes smoothly. Its ink showed no bleed and slight ghosting.

We know we've said it before, but we'll say it again - we LOVE Montpelier and being a part of the business community!

As you may know (mostly because we won't stop talking about it), we're in the middle of the voting round for the 2026 Seven Daysies awards. We're finalists for both 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘆 and 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝘆 𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 - 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆. Woot!

1. Almost all of the work we carry is made by Vermont-based artists (go local!).
2. We sell artwork made by artists living and working in Montpelier. If you're looking for something that showcases the capital of Vermont, we've got you covered (go really local!).
3. When you visit our gallery, odds are good that at some point you'll meet one of our artists in person.
4. We offer a warm, inclusive, and welcoming shopping environment.
5. Our staff rocks! They're knowledgeable, love working here, and are very dedicated.
6. We're dog-friendly and keep copious canine cookies behind the counter.

Bonus: We also love and appreciate visits from babies wearing hats with animal ears on them.
