Forgotten Friday updated: Built in 1775, the Mt. Holly Friends Meeting House was used by the British during the Revolutionary War as a commissary. The benches were used for cutting meat and the hacks and marks of cleavers and knifes are still evident as well as the marks made by British musket barrels on the floor.

Also, when the Crown's forces captured Trenton, the NJ State legislature met at least twice in the Mt. Holly Meeting House.

Forgotten Friday: Conroy Drugs at 127 West Main Street. James Conroy opened the pharmacy in 1926. Abe Hailperin purchased it in 1951 and ran it until his retirement in 1986, at which point the pharmacy closed.

It was then occupied by the New Jersey National Bank, Lillian Kriss’ The Gamut gift shop, and most recently, Wm. DeSimone & Son Fine Jewelers. Soon to be the home of Hermine Artisanal Bakery and Market, scheduled to open this autumn.
