The Fires of 1918 was the largest natural disaster in MN history and the 2nd largest fire disaster in the Nation, called 'the forgotten fire' because of ongoing WWI. Over 1,500 sq mi, 4,089 homes and 35 towns burned causing over 450 deaths in 5 counties from Pine Co on the south of Lake Superior to north of Duluth. Time to RISE to the baking challenge! If you're WHIPPING up treats for the MLAHS Depot fest bake sale, pretty please pre-label your masterpieces before dropping them off. And, if you're feeling extra SWEET, consider warning us if they're nutty or gluten free. PS- don't forget to bring some cash to buy these yummies for your tummies.

The Moose Lake Depot and Fires Of 1918 Museum is officially open! Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 4 pm, Sunday Noon -4 PM. For your summer plans note that the museum closes for the season on Labor Day.
