We have added two additional workshop dates with Mar Moustafa!

These beginner-friendly embroidery workshops are designed to help participants personalize clothing, bags, accessories, and other everyday items while learning foundational embroidery techniques in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Participants will bring their own item to embroider and leave with new skills and something uniquely their own.

New workshop dates:

• June 20 | 11:30 AM–1:30 PM
• July 11 | 11:30 AM–1:30 PM

$30 per participant

All embroidery materials are included aside from the item participants wish to embroider.

We are excited to launch Make Together, a new series of creative workshops designed to bring people together through making. First up: Round Loom Beanies with Arlinda Fannin.

This beginner-friendly fiber arts workshop is a relaxed introduction to round loom techniques, and participants will leave with a handmade beanie of their own. We especially love the idea of this becoming a shared experience between grandparents and grandkids, parents and kids, siblings, friends, or anyone looking for an excuse to make something together.

Registration is $20 per person.

What a fun afternoon at the Arts Center!

Today we welcomed students from Rowan Academy for a performance of The Three Little Pigs, adapted by student Jane Holmes and brought to life by an incredible group of young performers.

From the costumes to the performances, this production was full of heart and had the audience smiling from start to finish.

Special thanks to Nikki Scott and Angela Money for making this visit possible, and congratulations to all of the students on a job well done!

Teen Writers Summer Studio is a creative week designed for teens ages 12–17 who love words, ideas, storytelling, and art.

This unique summer experience blends writing, self-expression, creative exploration, and hands-on art projects in a welcoming studio environment. Participants will explore storytelling, identity, voice, and visual creativity while connecting with other young creatives.

Presented in partnership with Bloodroot Writers Collective, the program is made possible through support from James Baker Hall Foundation.

Only at the RCAC, this year’s Summer Youth Art Camp will feature our official Morehead Turtle Walk Minis, directly modeled after the turtles all around our community. After camp, these will be hitting our gift shop in July.

They’re back… and bringing the chaos with them.

The Rustic Mechanicals return to the Rowan County Arts Center on Saturday, August 1 with A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A high-energy, slightly unhinged take on Shakespeare’s most magical comedy.

Expect mischievous fairies, tangled love stories, and plenty of laughs as the line between reality and the fairy realm starts to blur.
