Julie Cioffoletti just dropped off a new collection of pieces. Drop by and check them out. I bet there's a mom or two out there who'd be thrilled with a piece of Julie's work. 😃

A Cadre of Artists | No. 6 | Mother's Day Edition
Mother's Day is Sunday, and I pulled together a group of new arrivals with that in mind. A lot of range here: ceramics, glass, textiles, a silk scarf, a handbag.
Nancy Whalley is a Morganton artist who hand-paints silk scarves in batik. Lightweight, genuinely soft, the kind of thing that gets worn rather than saved.
Nadine Koski () builds her encaustic paintings in layers of melted beeswax and resin. This bluebird carries more presence than its size suggests.
Michelle Mackenzie () used sgraffito to carve her honeybee dish by hand. Works as a jewelry catch-all or a small dish in the kitchen.
Molly Lithgo () hand-paints her surfaces with a looseness that's hard to pull off in clay.
Hayden Wilson () blows his friendship balls in Asheville. Each one comes out differently, and that's the point.
Anita Fox wove these lime green towels from reclaimed upholstery tailings sourced locally. Good craft with a good story behind it.
Maruca Design () has been making bags in Colorado since 1980, using custom Jacquard fabrics designed for each style.
Maria Avila () carves her imagery into the clay before glazing, which gives her surfaces a depth that painted decoration doesn't quite achieve.
Laurin Jennings contributes one French butter keeper: a water-seal method that keeps butter soft at room temperature without spoiling. Practical and a little clever.

All of this is in the shop now at 403 East Union Street.
