Football Kickoff!

The forward pass became legal in 1906. Before that, football was basically: grab the ball, run, and hope for the best!

More than a century later, we still yell, “Just throw it!” from the couch like the coach can hear us. 😂

Who are you cheering for this season? 🏈

Way-Back Wednesday:
Before tech ruled the world, childhood was dirt roads, bikes with squeaky brakes, porch light curfews, and imaginations big enough to power a whole summer. If you grew up that way, you didn’t need Wi Fi — you had real life.
No fancy apps, no digital fish finders — just a cane pole, a coffee can of worms, and the hope that the fish were feeling generous that day.

From hand pulled plows to high horsepower machines loaded with more tech than some cars, farming has come a long way. But one thing hasn’t changed — it’s still tough, honest work that keeps all of us going.

If you enjoyed a meal today, go ahead and thank a farmer — they earned it.

🎵 August 30 Music Moment

On August 30, 1979, The Cars released their hit single “Let’s Go,” a track that helped define the late 70s rock sound. With its bright energy and catchy beat, the song became one of their signature hits.

Honestly, you have to love the coincidence — a band named The Cars releasing a song called Let’s Go, and decades later, it’s still a song that makes you want to hit the road.

— Science Beyond the Textbook —

On this day in 1965
Gemini V returned to Earth after setting a new space endurance record. It wasn’t just a mission… it was a reminder that the biggest discoveries don’t happen only on paper.

Science is curiosity, courage, and exploration — the kind you can’t always find in a textbook. From rockets in the sky to engines on the road, innovation comes from those willing to push past the page and see what’s possible.

🥤 August 28 Fun Fact — Pepsi Gets Its Name

On August 28, 1898, pharmacist Caleb Bradham officially renamed his popular soda‑fountain drink from “Brad’s Drink” to Pepsi‑Cola — and a legendary American refreshment was born. What started as a simple concoction behind a pharmacy counter became one of the most recognizable beverages in the world.
