Brings back many fond memories of the antique engine shows my dad Blaine Haynes would host inviting all with an engine to display at this Toro lawn mower business every June. Lobster dinner and blueberry cake at the end of the day on Saturday then another fun day on Sunday. Really miss the old timers that came. Anyone and everyone would come.

This is our Old Man who visits 3 times daily during the winter months, mornings in the summer. This time of year we try our best to 'support' our small deer herd. He has been coming here for many years.

On Saturday, September 21 we hosted a group from the Old Maine Cemetery Association who helped us split our newest block of Sullivan granite. Many enjoyed looking through our old 1940 books of monument contracts by the Fletcher and Butterfield Monument Shop which stood on the river in Bangor, ME. They certainly were good sports and a fun group of visitors!

Our supply of large block stone for granite splitting demonstrations was in need of replenishing so off to Sullivan, ME to Conrad Smith's Quarry, the Sullivan Granite Company quarry at the end of the Track Road and then back to the Museum. Great thanks goes out to Conrad and Dan of L. E. Norwood (trucking) of Town Hill with their help in making this happen!

My son James Damon, cousin Zack Damon and James' nephew Johnathan Hamblen just brought in one very handsome Maine lobster. I'll call it the Cadillac Mountain Red Lobster, matches Steve Haynes' Cadillac Mountain Red tumbled stones here at the Maine Granite Museum!

After receiving this cast today as a donation from a visitor of the Maine Granite Industry Museum who has been storing it for over 50 years, it was found on an island off the coast of Maine when he was a teenager. We searched google and found this interesting article.
