📢 Mount Union Area Historical Society – Annual Dinner Meeting
Dear Members and Friends,
We apologize for the short notice, but we are excited to announce that the Mount Union Area Historical Society’s Annual Dinner Meeting is scheduled for:
🗓️ Date: Thursday, June 19, 2025
⏰ Time: 5:30 PM
📍 Location: Bricktown Senior Center, 18 North Washington Street, Mount Union, PA 17066
This will be a covered dish meal; please bring a dish to share. Table service and water will be provided.
🎤 Guest Speaker: Paul Fagley
🗣️ Presentation Title: “In Search of… the Juniatas”
📌 MUAHS Updates:
Genealogy Research: We continue to assist families researching their local ancestry and have received valuable information from former residents.
Archival Recovery Training: Andy McNitt and Murray Africa recently completed Archival Recovery classes sponsored by the EBT Foundation. Additionally, we have received disaster preparedness supplies, which are stored at the Bricktown Museum.
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are actively cleaning the Sharrar and Price Houses, but additional help is needed. The roofs at the Interpretive Park require repairs, and the back porch and shed need removal to create more storage space.
Upcoming Events:
Orbisonia and Rockhill Homecoming (August): We plan to participate in this community event.
Free Museum Day (September): We will open the houses to the public and will need volunteers to assist.
💳 Membership Information:
This is an excellent opportunity to renew your membership, gift a membership to someone, or join for the first time. Your support is vital to our mission.
