Heritage Gallery

Heritage Gallery Love. Art. An art shop dedicated to the soul of it for 31 years. We are spoiled a bit as the people to come into the gallery are in a mindful space.

Three generations of sweethearts grace our doorstep and it's their enthusiasm when they come in that makes our job a joy in return.

Still at the gallery. I haven't been home in 8 days, but will head there soon for a shower and then back to the gallery.Just a quick reminder that the fundraiser is still up. At 36% of the goal for moving expenses and utilities.

My business, Heritage Gallery is facing a Surprise Move. After nearly 13 years here, 7 as an employee and 6 as the owner, my business which has been in the same location for over 25 years, has lost its retail space due to the sale of the building and being on a month-to-month lease. So I'll be...

The packing is well underway. The movers are here on Monday . Whew! This has been challenging to organize a move at Christmas. The pic here shows barely a 1/4th of the volume to move by next Friday. It's very cathartic to clear the way for smoother operations, but sad to have to turn so many people away for December framing and printing.
Since the income has stopped due to packing, I want to remind people that want to help but are rather busy with Christmas, that our fundraiser is still posted. Please share with other folks that like the gallery, as my time at the computer is very limited in the next critical week. Thank You!!!!

p.s. Don't know why the last couple thank you comments sent to people that donated aren't showing in the posting. hmm

Hello Lovelies.
I deeply apologize for not keeping up with this page for the sake of the wonderful people around, but this place is very odd. Oddness aside, I do want to let everyone know that a rapid change is underway. I got word yesterday afternoon that the gallery has to clear out of this space that we've been in since 1986 by Dec. 27th.
I am going to keep the glorious art life alive. There will be a brief hiatus as a new and more appropriate location is found. In the meantime, this is somewhere I can be reached, as being unavailable without a storefront will alarm some nice folks. Take comfort that Heritage Galleries will be continuing to cheerfully print and frame to your heart's content in a couple of months.
On a happy note for holiday shoppers, everything displayed (excluding consignment) will be 50% off for our moving sale Mon. Dec 16th-Fri 20th.

I really cannot say this enough, thank you, all of you for all of it!! : ) xoxoxo Love, Sara

The Save Our Heritage Fundraiser is continuing through the week. As many haven't been able to make it due to the hectic holiday schedule, the silent auction is available online, too. Pick out your favorites and place your bids fast! Bidding ends 5pm on Fri. Dec. 21st! You can either place you bids through a message here or you call the gallery.
This is a great collection of art from a wide variety of very talented artists in the valley (with exception to the Startrek Enterprise) : ) And it's Christmas, so not only do you warm your heart knowing you're helping a wonderful place, but you can make others happy with the beautiful art.

It's Sara from Heritage Gallery in Downtown Mount Vernon.

Nearly five years ago, I bought the Gallery from Toni Franulovic in February 2008, 28 years after it opened. I worked for Toni as an art framer for several years and then as her general manager before purchasing the business.

I happened to buy the Gallery right before the current recession hit. I did so, not with hopes of financial riches but more of the personal kind, with a deep desire to keep open a business that I've long believed serves an important role within the community. Since then, it's been an upward struggle, especially against eroded personal earnings, real estate losses, and big box stores. On an average year, we expect to see lower volumes in the summer as people are out enjoying the sunshine, followed by a fall seasonal boost in business, but we're not really seeing that annual rise in business.

I have invested a substantial amount of time, energy, commitment and sacrifice into the Gallery. I've done this for the benefit of my community of friends, customers and supporters in the tradition of small business.

We have been helping three generations of people in the valley since 1980 and right now, your support is critical in order for us to continue to serve you, as we want to remain a resource for the community for a long time to come.

We're facing quite a few challenges: reduced order size, fewer monthly orders, growing overhead and costs of doing business, just to name a few. To get things moving and try and keep the Gallery viable, we're letting our valued friends know that we have a few ways that you can support us:

*We're holding a Silent Auction Fund-Raiser, with works of art from Local Artists bringing local photography, oil and acrylic paintings, prints, sculpture, wood-turned bowls and more. This will be held through the week of December 17th-21st. Bidding is available online this week. Please visit our page for detailed bidding info.

*We're hoping you'll bring in those pieces of art that you need framed, or that amazing family portrait you can't wait to see turned from a digital image into a frame-able art print. We can frame it for you, too!

*We are seeking a Volunteer Community Outreach Coordinator Assistant: We wish to host a non-profit, non-political entity within our doors that makes use of our space to promote local art and community initiatives. Of particular interest might be bringing together under-privileged youth with talented artists, and the potential scope is unlimited. We are seeking a stalwart volunteer to help bring this together.

*We have a beautiful space that can be made use of at a low cost for an Artists' Co-operative, with a limited number of spaces on an annual basis, that would include show space, studio/workshop space, and teaching facilities.

*Angels participating in any way, shape, or form.

We look forward to rising above our current challenges, remaining a sustainable resource within the community for many years to come, and hope that you'll contribute to our future success in the best way that you're able.
