Aleta Critchley Art

Aleta Critchley Art Hi, I’m Aleta. I’m a landscape painter and I like to make art and share it with all of you! Hi I’m Aleta! I’m an artist and I love to draw and paint!
(1)

I have always loved drawing. I studied Fine Art at Brigham Young University- Idaho, where I earned a BFA in 2 dimensional studies. I mainly work in two different mediums, portraits in nu pastel and landscapes in oil paint. I am happy to set up a time and session to take some photos for a portrait or I can usually work from a photo you already have if there is one you want drawn. Prices for Portrai

ts are as follows:

Nu Pastel:
75, any size

Pencil:
150 for 9x12
175 for 14x17
200 for 16x20 or larger

Color pencil:
200 for 9x12
225 for 14x17
250 for 16x20 or larger

All prices are for the first 2 people in a portrait. There is a lot of work and time that goes in to every portrait I do, because of this 25 dollars is added for each additional person.

25 dollar discount for full time college students! Landscape prices very per piece. Contact me for more information.

“Where the light settles” 5x7 is available at the Art in a Pickle Barn show open 10-5 daily during April.

I am so drawn to scenes like this one. Walking through the woods with a thick green canopy overhead, not paying attention to how much light is really filtering through, how much is being blocked. Then you stumble across a break in the trees, where the true unfiltered light reaches you and gives life to everything in its path. We are drawn out of the dark and towards the light, forever changed from the experience.

A few months ago I was approached by the Mount Vernon Downtown association to join in an interview with local artists that have been helped by the LIDO Collective. In typical Aleta fashion, I kind of forgot about it. But look! They wrote an article and mention me! There are a few details that I think might not be 100% accurate (I have for sure thought of myself as an artist for a long time) but other than that, it’s a great article.
I’m so grateful for places like this one and the Creative Hub & Coffeehouse who have helped me gain confidence and see some early successes.

Discover how Mount Vernon Downtown Association’s artisan retail market, The LIDO Collective, provides local artists with a place to build their confidence, learn business skills, and grow their client base – all while revitalizing their downtown core.
