20 years of Dreamlifter!

Twenty years ago, the Dreamlifter made its first flight from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Boeing Field in Seattle, to complete its flight test program. The Dreamlifter is a specially modified 747-400 used to transport major composite structures from suppliers to Boeing factories in the U.S., including Everett.

A perennial favorite of aviation buffs, plane spotters and visitors to , the Dreamlifter continues to play a pivotal role in transportation and cargo operations.

In 1943, Seattle fashion designer Muriel King created Flying Fortress Fashions, a clothing line tailored to the thousands of women entering the workforce during WWII. Muriel designed the garments for safety and practicality for the "Rosies" working on manufacturing floors and in industrial environments.
