Murray City Museum

Murray City Museum The Murray Museum is in the John P. Cahoon Mansion, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Free and open to the public.

It showcases local artifacts, vintage photographs, and interactive exhibits that bring Murray’s rich history to life. The Murray City History Board assists staff in guiding the history-related projects for the City. They oversee the local registry, the City museum and history collection, and development and preservation of historic resources. Do you have a World War II Veteran in your family? We're looking for their stories!.....
Murray City Museum is seeking donations of letters between World War II servicemen and their families in Murray! There are many untold stories of families and Murray events (and Murray connections to world events) that can be found in these letters. .....
Our WWII Veterans are aging and many have passed on. The Murray Museum would like to collect their stories, in the form of oral histories, journals, and letters - especially letters both to and from servicemen. .....
We invite Murray residents to donate these family treasures, to be preserved and shared in an exhibit for Veteran's Day, 2020. .....

Throwback Thursday.
The first grave dug in the Murray Cemetery was for John Benbow in 1874. John was among the first pioneers to enter the Salt Lake Valley. His headstone has since been replaced but the original can be seen mounted outside the wall of the Cemetery Office.
