🔦 Exhibit Spotlight: Muskegon Brewery🔦

Did you know Muskegon had its own thriving brewery scene? The Muskegon Brewery operated from 1877–1957 on Brewery Hill, the former site of Cole's Bakery. Over the years, the location saw several chapters: Grand Rapids Brewery bottled b**r there from 1935–1946, followed by Goebel from 1946–1957.

Here's a fun fact: Muskegon was one of only two places in the entire USA that bottled Guinness B**r! 🍺

Come learn more about Muskegon's brewing history at the Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry!

🔦 Exhibit Spotlight 🔦

Meet our featured artifact: a Corliss Valve Steam Engine built in 1893! With a massive 10-foot diameter flywheel weighing 6 tons, this engine is a true piece of Muskegon's industrial history.

Originally from the Stewart Hartshorn Roller Shade Co., it powered a dynamo that provided electricity to the plant from 1893 all the way through the 1920s. While it once ran on steam, today it's powered by air from a regenerative blower — and you can watch it run any time the museum is open!

Come see it in action at the Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry!
