HISTORIC WASHINGTON ARKANSAS: During its' quarterly meeting Sat. May 30th, The Historic Washington Foundation elected Freddie Horne of Nashville to the HWF Board of Directors. He will chair the Grant Writing Committee for the organization. Horne is the President of the Howard Co. Historical Society, Nashville City Alderman, Emeritus Nashville City Parks Commissioner and former principal/teacher for the Nashville School District. The Historic Washington Foundation (formerly Pioneer Washington Restoration Foundation) is Arkansas’ oldest preservation organization, founded in 1958. The foundation now maintains eight significant properties within the boundaries of Historic Washington State Park, and continues its original goal to support the state park and keep properties open for visitors. The foundation is governed by a nonprofit Board of Directors and employs a skilled craftsman to assist with property maintenance.
