We’re running out of room—and more people are using the museum than ever.

Over the years, many families have trusted us with their loved ones’ artifacts and stories—and new pieces keep arriving. More schools, scout groups, churches and other organizations are coming through our doors and want to use the space. This need for a hands on more contemporary space and approach to teaching history is confirmed by the number of visitors and their feedback.

It's a good problem to have—but it’s still a problem.

When larger groups visit, it gets crowded fast. We don’t have enough bathrooms, and we don’t have proper classroom space for hands-on learning. The demand is growing, but our footprint isn’t—and it’s starting to limit what we can offer.

So here’s where we’re headed, we are going to try to make and raise money to expand.

Not just a bigger space for artifacts—but more room for our community. While we do need to add more galleries to the museum as its scope widens, we also want to create something more useful, an informal space that feels lived-in and works for the people who use it.

• A community hub where veterans can gather and local groups can meet

• Real classrooms where students can interact with history, not just look at it

• Basic onsite resources that let people stay longer, such as expanded bathroom facilities and a small kitchen area. This will allow us to grow the museums outreach and provide a resource for the local community..

As our plans take shape we will update everyone.

We had a great weekend with the scouts, they were here from Friday thru Sunday. They got an Eagle scout project finished and produced a awesome new exhibit for museum.

This Christmas season, we pause to remember our friends and fellow service members who have passed. We honor their sacrifice and the legacy they left behind—one of courage, duty, and love of country.
We also lift up in prayer the young men and women who are spending Christmas in harm’s way, far from their families, standing watch to keep our nation safe. Their service reminds us that freedom is never free.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our friends, supporters, and dedicated volunteers whose time, care, and commitment help preserve these stories and sacrifices for future generations.
From all of us at the museum, we wish you a peaceful Christmas. May we always remember, always honor, and always be grateful.

While I was in England the guys cut an entrance into the new gallery we built a while ago. Thanks to Todd, Tom and Theo for working with Eddie to get it done.

Was really surprised. Looks really good, now to finish out the gallery.

Christi Cox the manager of Walmart in Royse city has been a great supporter over the years and help sponsor many of the events and visits the last few weeks.

She always tries to do something to honor Veterans, we setup a display this year in the store to honor our Gulf war vets and all those that served.

Museum was full of young people all weekend as the scouts held a 2 night campout ( some of them slept overnight in the new navy gallery ). Kids were great and engaged, they showed great respect as they listened to the stories of those men and woman we remember.

They got to ride around in vehicles and this morning experience firing a 60 mm mortar.
