Want to take a class?

Check out our featured class of the month, Acrylic painting with the instructor, Gaye Sekula.

Date & Time: First Tuesdays, 9 am to noon.
Cost: $50 per session, plus $5 /student studio fee
​Location: Bower Classroom
Class limited to 8 students.

A class for intermediate to advanced students who work in oil, acrylic, pastel, or watercolor and are ready to put in the work necessary to take their art to the next level. Assignments will be given to be worked on between sessions and students will be asked to share their results. Students will receive guidance for their specific journey and help setting and reaching their personal goals. *Must have a good working knowledge of their chosen medium.

Let's Feature one of our 2025 Artists of the Year!

Myra Knapp's subtle arrest of the spirit, energy and beauty of her environment endow her landscapes with compelling power. This talent has been applied to works describing the West for the last three decades and is seen in painterly forms that capture vastness, magnitude, mystery and solitude.

Inspired by an active artistic family, Knapp studied at the university level; carefully selected American artists and teachers Scott Christensen, Charles Movalli, Ted Goerschner, Ron Rencher and Randall Sexton, whose impressionist paintings have achieved national fame, and worked with them to gain her en plein air expertise and to develop her own unique style. In addition, two years of study in Europe exposed her to the work of history's great artists as well as contemporary styles and concerns.

The Canyon Lake Art Guild awarded a significant scholarship to a high school senior from Canyon Lake who will be attending college this fall. This was the first time a student ever did a series of paintings on one subject. This student chose the life of Jesus.
