Their art uses contemporary media to express deep cultural knowledge from the oldest surviving culture in the world. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the Elders past, present, and fut

Modern Aboriginal art is as diverse as the cultures of the Aboriginal peoples. The stories, symbols and styles used by artists are unique to each clan group and are derived from Dreamtime, the Creation of time. From Dreamtime stories to aerial views, artists teach about their Country, which is the sacred knowledge of tangible and intangible things within their land that encompasses all living beings, seasons, stories, creation spirits, and a sense of belonging. Artists use techniques, like over-doting, to hide the full sacred stories and deeper knowledge to those outside their community. Since the Modern Aboriginal Art movement started in the 1970s, over 40,000 years of iconography and stories inherited by the artists have been shared with the world.
