The Cooch family will transfers their Colonial era home to the State.....

The Cooch family has agreed to transfer their Colonial era home that Gen Cornwallis occupied on Sept 3, 1777 ,to the State, along with an additional ten acres of the battlefield that the family had retained.. The W3R Delaware is excited that down the road, the home could possibly become an "visitors site " highlighting Delaware's role in the American Revolution.. The Cooch family had begun Ground Penetrating Radar Surveys this past summer as they hope to locate the unmarked graves of the two dozen Colonial Soldiers who perished at the battle in the area of the Cooch bridge. The State will continue that research under the direction of Mr Wade Catts. Wade explained to the assembled guests, the overview of Delaware's only battlefield of Sept 3,1777. The house lies along the W3R National Historical trail!!! "
