The Swiss Center spent the weekend at the Tillamook Swiss Society's Schwingfest in Oregon! We heard some great music, met a ton of wonderful people, and saw a lot of impressive wrestling. Thanks for having us! 🇨🇭🎶

Big news for New Glarus and Swiss heritage in Wisconsin! 🇨🇭🎉

The Swiss Center of North America, in partnership with the New Glarus School District and Green County Development Corporation, has been awarded a $108,000 grant through the Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Non-State Grant Program to help bring Phase 2 of the New Glarus Glarner Community Complex to life!

Located across from New Glarus High School, this exciting next phase will add a Swiss-inspired pavilion, public plaza, modern restrooms, and food service facilities, creating Wisconsin’s only Swiss-themed public gathering space.

The space will be a home for cultural celebrations, community gatherings, student events, and Swiss-American traditions for generations to come, while also supporting local tourism and jobs.

We can't wait for you to see it! 🇺🇸🇨🇭

We are sad to share that the creator of many beautiful Swiss costumes and paintings, Nell Weidmann, has passed away. The Swiss Center is lucky to have several dozen dolls created from scratch by Nelly in the 1970s and 1980s.

Born in 1928 in Zurich, Nelly and her family immigrated to Wisconsin in 1954. She enjoyed a rich life of travel, friends, and artistic endeavors. She will be missed!

In honor of the 250th birthday of the United States, the Swiss Center is proud to announce a new exhibit! 🎉🎂

The Sister Republics: Switzerland and the United States is a collection highlighting historical parallels and cultural exchanges between the two nations. Special emphasis is given to how Switzerland influenced the 18th century American understanding of democracy through concepts like the referendum, and how the U.S. model influenced the 1848 Swiss Constitution, including the adoption of federalism and bicameralism.

View it now through October in our lower level Linda Sc*****er Gallery! 🇨🇭🇺🇸
