ARTIST BIO
Elizabeth Jancewicz grew up in northern Quebec, loving comics and dreaming to someday be a comic artist herself. In 2010, she started the band Pocket Vinyl with her best friend Eric Stevenson. They've played nearly 1000 shows together. In 2017, Elizabeth started posting “The Touring Test” comics online, chronicling their lives as touring musicians and working artists. They currently live in Preston, CT with their two cats, Locutus and Whiskey.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I've always loved comic strips from newspapers. I grew up loving them, reading any collection my family could get their hands on. I started drawing from a very early age, and as far back as I can remember, I wanted to make my own comics. For most of my life, I didn't feel like I was “ready” to start yet, whatever that means. In 2017, I finally decided to jump in and make a semi-autobiographical comic about our lives as touring musicians in the band Pocket Vinyl. Once I started, I immediately wondered what took me so long. It's been nearly 5 years now, and my comic has become not just about us touring, but also about our cats, our struggles, our joys, our home....anything really. I'm very proud of all these comics, and hopefully we can connect to each other through them.
