Adams County Historical Society Preserving and Presenting the History of Adams County and New Meadows The plans never materialized and the Depot became the end of the line.

The railroads left a legacy of opening the west for further expansion and Meadows Valley has its own legacy, the Pacific & Idaho Northern Railway Depot. The Historic Depot was designed to house the P&IN Railway's general offices, at the time of construction to run rails to Northern Idaho. The Depot was destined for destruction, in later years. Will Kerby, former head of J.I. Morgan logging, was re

sponsible for saving the Depot from its demise. He is also responsible for donating the land on which the Depot is located. The ACHS was formed in 1978 for the sole purpose of preserving The Depot. Once the Depot is restored, it will give the community pride, and an opportunity to provide a link to out past heritage of Meadows Valley and to share with all the visitors that come through the Valley. The Depot will house a museum and provide a community center to host both large and small events for all the residents of Meadows Valley and the surrounding communities.

The ACHS would like to thank all who take their time, talent and treasure to make the Fosdick Benefit a success every year. We are honored as well as humbled by the generosity given to us. The $3000.00 awarded to us will be used to continue our top floor window restoration project. Once again thank you.
