PSA: Publicly debating an artist’s price doesn’t lower it.
It just lowers the vibe. Let’s Talk About Respect for Artists:
Buyer etiquette:
• If it’s not in your budget, scroll with kindness.
• Don’t price-police in public—it drains the community.
• Every piece finds its right home in its right time.
Artists: Keep building. Critics are loud; buyers are loyal. If you are an artist you are a builder and creator, their will always be critical people but so will their be people who absolutely LOVE what you are making.
truth: You’re investing in time, talent, tools, training, and a creativity!
Handmade means heartmade. You’re not just paying for materials. You’re paying for their talent, time, creativity, and skill. Just because you can’t or won’t pay what the artist is asking doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not worth the price. I am sure each piece will find it’s forever home with the right person in the right time.
Publicly questioning someone’s prices doesn’t help anyone. It discourages makers, artists and musicians. It also hurts the positive vibe that makes this kind of art special.
If something isn’t in your budget, that’s totally fine. Just keep scrolling. No shade. No snark.
