The New Orleans Jazz Museum gives you Gallatin Street Fridays presented by The Nathan and Priscilla Gordon Foundation.

Brian Quezergue is a New Orleans native. Music came naturally to him, inspired by his surroundings and his father, the notable composer Dr. Wardell Quezergue. His musical talents and interests were nurtured at the city’s own New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), the Jazz Heritage School of Music, and Southern University at New Orleans. Quezergue has performed and recorded across the nation and internationally. We are thrilled to host him for this show in our third-floor Performance Center.

This year, NOLA River Fest gets even closer to the river at the heart of it all.

We’re proud to partner with Audubon Nature Institute to extend the River Fest experience from the New Orleans Jazz Museum to the newly expanded Goldring Woldenberg Riverfront Park.

As the day begins to wind down, Kinfolk Brass Band will lead a second line from the Jazz Museum to the park, where programming continues along the Mississippi.

Music. Nature. Community. And sunset beside the river.

It’s a fitting culmination to Sounds of the River: Water as the Collective—bringing us together not simply to talk about our connection to the Mississippi, but to gather beside it.

The New Orleans Jazz Museum’s Improvisations Gala presented by the Herb Alpert Foundation returns Saturday, December 5, 2026, for the coolest night in New Orleans.

This year, we’re transforming the Museum and the 400 block of Esplanade Avenue into Winter Lights — a dazzling Mid-Century Modern celebration where shimmering lights, music, art, fashion and New Orleans culture come together for one unforgettable night.

Experience live music across multiple stages, second lines, immersive art installations, exceptional cuisine, signature cocktails and performances from an extraordinary lineup of New Orleans and international artists.

September is National Piano Month, and few cities have given the instrument more personality than New Orleans.

From Jelly Roll Morton to generations of New Orleans pianists who blended jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, gospel, Caribbean influences and more, the piano became an unmistakable part of the city’s musical vocabulary.

Morton, a New Orleans native, became one of early jazz’s most important pianists, bandleaders and composers; the Library of Congress describes him as jazz’s first great composer.

We also recognize the musicians, artists, culture bearers and New Orleanians whose resilience helped preserve the traditions and sounds of this city through extraordinary loss and rebuilding.

Music carries memory. Culture carries community.

Fats Domino's white Steinway piano that was majorly damaged in Hurricane Katrina's floodwaters but was restored and can be seen on display at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. Thanks to the dedication of Greg Lambousy, then‑Director of Collections at the Louisiana State Museum, and with support from National Geographic and Sir Paul McCartney, the pianos was preserved.
