This is a collaboration between me and my friend, Kirk Dackow, who made the amazing wood table. Each tile has texture from lace or a stamp and is glazed with a combination of two different studio mixed glazes. The hardest part was caulking the edges because I had a hard time getting a smooth finish.

I finally finished these pieces from last year. While the tiles were sewn and glued on the backing, I had to glue the backing to the frame (hand made by our son’s friend CJ) and add hanging hardware. I have one more to finish and then I can focus on a few new projects. It’s been a hectic year so I’m happy to be able to see these to completion.

My current project! My friend made the table and I made the tiles. I still have to grout but I’m excited about the outcome 🙂

I hope you have a chance to see my two pieces of handmade paper art in the CCA juried art show in Basking Ridge Nj. I’ll miss the opening but will be back in March if anyone wants to go with me!

Progression of my paper making from simple sheets to more intricate designs with lace patterns and added dried flowers. I made paper for the first time in college and would occasionally come back to it for summer projects. Then when the pandemic hit, I spent the summer of 2020 making paper from recycled materials and explored going smaller and assembling pieces to an overall design. I haven’t made paper in the last couple of years but hope to have time next summer (it’s easier to dry all the bits when it’s warm outside).

Yay! I just found out two of my paper pieces, made during the pandemic, were accepted into the juried art show at Center for Contemporary Arts January 6-March 23. Only 52 out of 906 pieces were accepted! Unfortunately, I won’t be here for the opening reception but I’m excited to be part of the show!
