The Hanska Historical Society Invites You To It's Membership Kickoff on Sunday, June 28 at 3pm!!
Since 1910, the Union Hall (Hanska Community Center) has stood at the heart of Hanska playing host to community events that are now a part of the history of the area. The Hanska community is invited to make history, once again, at Union Hall. The newly formed Hanska Historical Society invites the public to a Membership Kickoff at the community center on Sunday, June 28 at 3pm.
The society’s president, Larry Harbo, will give the opening remarks on how the Hanska Historical Society came to be. Amy Johnson, Executive Director of the Brown County Historical Society will share some words on the BCHS Museum and the importance of historical societies within communities.
After the presentations, the newly formed Hanska Historical Society will discuss their role in the town’s 125th Celebration, the future of the organization, and how interested folks can join and become involved. The facilities committee of the HHS has been actively searching for a physical location in town for a permanent museum.
The mission of the organization is to discover, collect, and preserve artifacts and records from within Hanska and the immediate local area. The material collected will be organized and made available for public access with the intent of it being an educational resource for the history of the area. Membership in the organization helps preserve Hanska’s history for future generations. The annual membership fee will be $20 for individuals and $30 for households.
Those in attendance will have their own place in history. The historical society needs an official logo. During the presentation, attendees will be invited to cast their ballot among the options, and the winning logo will be revealed during the event.
Following the presentation, attendees are invited to stay for an early dinner at 4pm provided by local bakery and café, Sweet Sisters. As guests of the presentation, a meal of a BBQ sandwich, salad, chips and dessert will be provided to attendees.
The Hanska Historical Society welcomes everyone to take part in this kickoff event! Any questions can be emailed to [email protected].
