Ash Keating’s new large-scale work, a continuation of his Gravity System Response series, is now on view as part of .melbourne in the Forecourt (next to ) through July 10th.

The work features 28 panels, each measuring 4x2 meters, and is in collaboration with artist for his Kaleidoscope project.

Keating’s ‘Gravity System Response’ exhibition contrasts darker color palettes with lighter ones. In GSR 14_2022 (Diptych), there is territorial progression over and across the diptych, beset by a transitory body of ultramarine that pools together up high before being swept down and out.

begins with careful planning, then moves into a cycle that alternates between
methodical intentionality and intuitive impulse.

Ash Keating’s practice often involves large-scale, outdoor works. He has just announced his largest ‘Gravity System Response’ studio painting to date, which blurs the line between his studio practice and outdoor murals. The piece will be on public view in the forecourt of Arts Centre Melbourne as part of Keith Courtney’s ‘Kaleidoscope’.

Expanding upon the new works currently on exhibition in our New York gallery, the 28 panel, 224 square metre, interconnected piece wraps Courtney’s installation and can be viewed 24 hours a day.
