Loni is a curator, editor, archivist, and software (database) designer. Always with the pulse on current technology, and implemeting innovative solutions. She is a workflow solutions advisor, always using best archival prac
tices. We create the artists legacy they write themselves. Beginning her career as an archivist with Annie Leibovitz in 1993, Loni realized the need to organize artists' work before most thought about it. In 1996 Loni Efron founded ilon and Company, an archival and digital consulting firm dedicated to working with photographers and artists. Annie Leibovitz was her first client then followed by David LaChapelle, Joel Meyerowitz, and Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, to more recent clients such as Bob Gruen, Larry Rothman Collection, and Lynn Gilbert. In the early 2000’s she began working with photographer Mark Seliger, touring his In My Stairwell series around the world. Immediately following, Loni and Mark Seliger opened 401 Projects, a photographer’s gallery debuting with the great Albert Watson. However Loni's curatorial debut was back in 1994 at James Danziger gallery in Soho featuring Annie Leibovitz’s Selected Works and her first museum exhibition was in 1999 at the Palazzo Delle Esposizioni in Rome with David LaChapelle and his Hotel LaChapelle series.
2014 ilon Art Gallery was born. Loni started the gallery as boutique photography gallery and since has added street artists, painters, and sculptors to the roster. Located in a historic brownstone in Harlem, the gallery is a venue for artists and art enthusiasts. The Gallery exhibits a mix of emerging and blue chip artists including solo shows with David Burnett, Art Shay, and Philip Trager and group shows with Martin Schoeller, Annie Leibovitz, David LaChapelle, Ruben Natal-San Miguel, Al Diaz, Carlos Pinto, Robots Will Kill and Ellen Sandor to name a few. As curator and director of the ilon Art Gallery, Loni has exhibited over 30 shows. She holds classes, lectures, panels, and movies too. During Covid, Loni expanded once again to create a digital storefront on the Artsy platform. In 2022 Loni opened her NFT shop exploring new technologies as well as in the Opensea Marketplace. Also rebranded and relaunched www.ilon.com for artist merchandising. In 2023 we are launching our Instagram and Facebook shops.
