With another year of Do.Co.Co in the rear-view, we're taking a second to reflect on the title of our latest show by Chad Alexander Matha, "Carving a Forest".

To get into the artist's mind, we're going back... 15,000 years back—to a time when Wisconsin was under glacial ice, and the forests we all love were but a glimmering dream. When understanding such a transient process, sometimes you have to look at that scale to separate the forest from the trees.

We're open Saturday and Sunday afternoon,
so drop by and take a looksee whydoncha?

Mothers are underappreciated—
everyday holds another trial, another sacrifice, another ritual.
This Mother's Day is an opportunity to help them find stillness.


Even before we were born, our mothers fought daily battles to feed and protect us. They gave up their time, bodily autonomy, and futures for a person they didn't yet know. Mothers are often the first ones up and the last ones to rest—yet they somehow find some measure of balance in that whirlwind of dizzying noise.

When—in all of this—is there room to be still?



Amy Kligman knows about mapping out that refuge.
For her, painting is a centering ritual,
a way to collect and process
the frenetic stream that unfolds all around her.

Her paintings become sites of pause,
sanctuaries of reflection,
fields shaped by histories and associations.
