www.intuitiveabstractart.com She has been creating art for as long as she can remember, unconsciously drawing abstract images on notepads or scraps of paper whenever she had a pencil or pen in her hand. A lawyer by trade, Julie decided to pursue her passion

for art and start a career in the field of intuitive abstract art after sharing photos of her pieces on social media. After decades of intuitively creating designs, Julie began enhancing her work with acrylic and watercolor by creating unique pieces filled with bright bold colors and intricate patterns. She is inspired by the interplay of shapes and colors and how pieces organically evolve. She believes that if all that comes out of her bright, colorful artwork is that it makes you happier and brings you joy, then that is enough. Julie Reby Waas creates elaborate acrylic and watercolor drawings guided by intuition and the heart. Her process is deeply spiritual—she silences the rational mind and lets her subconscious take the lead, allowing each stroke to emerge instinctively. Bright colors and intricate patterns spark spontaneous reactions, while her geometric shapes—vines, Venn diagrams, and jigsaw-like motifs—bring order to life’s chaos. These recurring symbols reflect friendship, connection, and the fragments that come together to form a greater whole, echoing Waas’s belief in the interwoven beauty of all things.

Julie Reby Waas has been drawn to abstract art for as long as she can remember, but it was the solitude and stress of the pandemic that sparked her transformation of original sketches into vibrant artworks. With a fearless use of bright colors and dynamic patterns, Waas creates pieces that ignite instant joy and curiosity. Her geometric motifs—vines, Venn diagrams, and jigsaw puzzle shapes—serve as anchors of order amid life’s chaos, reflecting both intuition and introspection. For Waas, the creative process is a thrilling journey and a form of therapy. Through her art, she invites viewers to pause, smile, and find a burst of light in their busy lives. .abstract.art

Julie Reby Waas’s intricate acrylic and watercolor drawings emerge instinctively from a deeply spiritual process, guided by her heart and intuition. She approaches her art by quieting the rational mind, allowing her subconscious to flow freely onto the paper through her hand. Beginning with simple concepts such as vines, hearts, and geometric forms, Waas allows the outlines to develop organically, never knowing which colors or patterns will fill them until the moment of creation. This intuitive method not only fuels her creativity but also acts as a therapeutic outlet, bringing her immense joy and fulfillment. Recurring symbols in Waas’s artwork—such as vines, Venn diagrams, and jigsaw puzzle-like designs—function as visual metaphors for the sense of order she seeks to establish amidst the chaos of life. These motifs encapsulate her belief in the interconnectedness of all people and things, illustrating how seemingly disparate fragments come together to form a cohesive whole. Waas’s art reflects her understanding that, like the designs she creates, life is a complex tapestry of relationships and experiences.

Through her vibrant and engaging compositions, Waas aspires to elicit spontaneous reactions of happiness and enthusiasm from her audience. By inviting viewers into her unique creative process, she encourages them to embrace their own emotions and connections to the world around them. Each piece serves not only as a personal expression but also as a celebration of life’s intricate beauty, inspiring others to find joy in their own journeys of self-discovery and connection. .abstract.art

A striking fusion of lines, colors, and geometries — the Mixed Media masterpieces of Michelle Simonetti, Alli Gerrish, and Julie Reby Waas push boundaries and ignite the imagination. Each piece invites you to look beyond the surface and experience art in a whole new way. ✨

Simonetti’s minimalist abstracts explore the delicate space between real and imagined worlds, weaving personal and collective memories into every piece. Gerrish’s work exists at the intersection of abstraction and symbolism, distilling resilience and collective wisdom from adversity. Meanwhile, Waas’s organic forms — vines, hearts, and geometric shapes — grow naturally from simple ideas, transforming into intricate visual stories.

Featured works:
Michelle Simonetti, Untitled [Gold, Black & Mauve], 2021 — Gold leaf & acrylic on canvas, 36” x 24”
Alli Gerrish, Connection, 2023 — Acrylic on board, 60” x 48”
Julie Reby Waas, Jigsaw, 2022 — Watercolor & acrylic on paper, 19” x 16”

Julie Reby Waas’s acrylic and watercolor drawings emerge through an instinctive and deeply immersive process, guided by intuition rather than meticulous planning. Her artistic approach embraces spontaneity, allowing subconscious creativity to take form organically. Beginning with simple elements—vines, hearts, or geometric shapes—each composition evolves naturally as she fills in outlines with vibrant, unexpected colors and intricate patterns. This free-flowing technique serves as both a therapeutic practice and a means of visual storytelling, resulting in dynamic and uplifting works that invite contemplation and joy.

In her recent series, Waas explores themes of harmony and interconnectedness, drawing inspiration from the six-sided structure of the Rubik’s Cube. By incorporating structured lines and bold primary colors, she creates a visual language that echoes the balanced simplicity of Mondrian while transforming geometric precision into a metaphor for unity. Recurring motifs such as vines, Venn diagrams, and interlocking puzzle forms reflect her belief in the interconnected nature of human relationships, where individual elements come together to create a greater whole. Her work balances order and spontaneity, seamlessly blending structured forms with fluid movement. The interplay of precise geometry and organic patterns results in compositions that feel both deliberate and free, inviting viewers to engage with the deeper symbolism embedded within each piece. Through her intricate and meditative approach, Waas challenges perceptions of structure and chaos, offering a fresh perspective on connection, balance, and the beauty of intuitive creation. .abstract.art
